The Gannett-Tripp Library’s Research Help staff is dedicated to helping you solve your research problems. Research Help service is available every day that the Gannett-Tripp Library is open.

E-mail: (A librarian will reply within one business day when classes are in session.)

If you're having trouble finding material for a research project, you can schedule a research consultation. Contact Martha Smith, Information Literacy and Accreditation Librarian, at (607) 735-1866 or at to make an appointment.

The GTL has borrowing agreements with other institutions for items not in our collections.

Before submitting a request, please check Library Search to make sure that the item is not something owned by the Gannett-Tripp Library.

The text of some items may be available electronically through one of our subscription services. Check to see if we have print or electronic access to specific full-text journals, or ask a librarian for assistance.

Those using this service for the first time should review the ILL procedures.

Administrators and staff are welcome to use the computers in the Library. Use EC network user name and password to log in.

The Library provides free printing from the 3 printers on the first floor, and from the printers in the Computer Labs in the Nathanson Computer Center on the terrace level. The default setting for printers is double-sided, but can be changed for single-sided printing.

Photocopy machines are on both the first and second floors. Use a $1 or $5 bill in the attached vending machine to purchase a reusable copy card. Cards are also for sale at the campus Bookstore.

Inquire at the IT Help Desk about scanning or color printing. There is a charge for color printing. There is no public fax machine in the library, but one is available in the Student Life office, or at several locations in downtown Elmira.
